Let us introduce ourselves
Welcome to Zennistoun Hub, a community health hub based in the heart of Dennistoun in Glasgow’s East End.
At Zennistoun Hub we support our community by providing accessible, alternative, and complementary therapies and services, in a safe and welcoming environment. Our vision is to create a healthy and empowered community.
At Zennistoun Hub we embrace and promote inclusivity, equality and diversity. Our services are available to all and include community projects which allow us to offer free and subsidised treatments, therapies and classes to members of the community with an acute need for our services.
Our health and wellbeing projects are available to residents of Dennistoun, Calton and other areas within the Glasgow North East locality. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC), which is a non-profit organisation ensuring all profits we receive will go directly back into our local community.
How We Work
We are a community Health Hub based in Dennistoun, providing a range of alternative and complementary therapies, classes and groups, to support your health and wellbeing.
We believe everyone should have access to these services regardless of socio-economic barriers.
As a Community Interest Company, we are a non-profit organisation working to provide affordable and accessible services to our community. However, although we are eligible for some funding grants to help us achieve this, we also have an obligation as a social enterprise, to generate our own income. Thus, we have our pay it forward system, which ensures that the people who pay for our services, are literally helping to provide free and subsided services to the more vulnerable in our community and those in need.
We are so much more than a service: Zennistoun Hub is rooted in the community – we’re here to give space, resources and support for everyone in our local community to share, collaborate and build a healthy and wellbeing focused community together!
"Can you envision a community where everyone can access alternative and complementary therapies, regardless of social barriers and challenges? Where yoga classes and mindfulness sessions are available to all, regardless of costs, and sometimes on prescription! Osteopathy, acupuncture and massage therapies available to people who may not be able to afford it or are otherwise marginalised or disenfranchised. Art and music therapy sessions, walking groups, menopause cafes and much more!"
From the community, for the community
As a new organisation, Zennistoun Hub is solely volunteer-run. We have a fantastic team of volunteers from our board of directors to our admin worker, and all the way to our operations teams including marketing, research, and accounts.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community health Hub. Thanks to their hard work we can continue to provide these fantastic and essential services to our community!
