Potato Day

Potato Day

Every year the East end community, and people from all over the city, come together to have fun with vegetables – it’s Potato Day!

We were so excited to attend this year. It was the first public event Zennistoun Hub had attended in the community. The ZHub team were raring to go and we were ready with our table full of fun and fabulous resources: crosswords, surveys, leaflets, stickers (we have an amazing volunteer marketing team!)

We had a prime spot near the entrance so we could welcome all the excited faces.

Our brilliant director Clunie was offering free head and shoulder massages to anyone who wanted to feel calm and relaxed. It was great to offer this at the event so the community knew exactly what Zennistoun Hub is here to do: improve health and wellbeing with accessible alternative and complementary therapies and treatments.

One highlight from the event was our beautiful Help us Grow fingerprint tree! We asked guests to pick a colour and add it to our tree with a fingerprint. Kids loved this and it allowed everyone to get creative.

By the end of the day, we had a vibrant canvas and our tree was blossoming. We can’t wait to proudly display it when we open our premises as a reminder of this great day and the community spirit everyone felt.

It was amazing to meet so many people from the community and learn about the inspiring work of local organisations such as the incredible Allotment Angels.

We can’t wait to see you all again at more local events and we will keep everyone updated on the opening of our premises.
